This weekend is a big weekend for me, I turn 40. Eeek! I am actually very excited about turning 40. I am just writing this post before I get ready to head to Lee Bay in Devon which is on the south west coast of the UK. It is a beautiful part of the country, whatever the weather (just as well because it’s chucking it down) and we have a cottage right on the sea front. It will be a weekend of relaxing with good food and drink and even better friends and family.
This isn’t the only reason I am excited. Back in September of 2015 I set my self the goal to be in a position to leave my 9-5 job by January of 2017. You can read about that and why I set myself that goal in the about me section. I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to achieve this when I set out that goal. I spent the rest of 2015 looking at opportunities and ways of making money online. I came across something called Wealthy Affiliate which I found was an excellent resource in getting started and enabled me to get my blog up and running and also start bringing in a bit of money on a monthly basis. You can read about why I think they are a great place to start here.
Towards the end of 2015 I was invited to become part of a mentor program which offers guidance, teaching and support in creating your own digital product(s) and getting them to sale. The most important thing about this course, in my opinion was the mentorship. I have read time and again about how important it is to have an online mentor. I knew that this was the opportunity I had been waiting for.
So as I start not only a new year, but a new decade in my life, I now have a much better idea on how I am going to achieve that goal I set back in 2015. I have some experience of making money on line, but i’m still doing my 9-5, so I have not had that break through success yet! I will be using this blog to record my journey and talk about how it’s going – the good and the bad. Check back in a regular basis to see how I am progressing. If you’re on this journey too, or are thinking about starting it I would love to hear from and swap tips and ideas.
But for now I am off to Devon for fun time shenanigans!
Bye for now 🙂
